Stolen Car Battery Leads To Death Of Baby

He watched his seven-month old son die agonizingly as he struggled to reach the roadside to catch a vehicle to the hospital.

His car would not start at the critical moment he needed it most to rush the sick baby to the hospital, only to discover rather too late robbers had stolen the battery.

That is the painful story of Richard Boampong who lost his child under such bizarre circumstances in the early hours of Monday October 5, 2015 at Pakyi Number One in the Ashanti Region.

He tells Nhyira News that little Rowland Nimoh was taken ill suddenly at about 2 a.m. so he decided to rush him to the hospital.

After failed attempts to start his car, he realized the battery was nowhere to be found.

He sought assistance from a neigbour for use of his car but there was no fuel.

Mr. Boampong decided to carry the baby on foot to a nurse in the vicinity for first aid but the baby died before he could reach the nurse.

He said a few minutes after he lost his baby, police from Trede Station showed up in his house with a suspect who confessed to committing the crime with two accomplices.
