The southern part of the country, has entered its second and minor rainy season, Mr. Tetteh Portuphy, a Senior Meteorologist at the Ghana Meteorological Agency, Kotoka International Airport, has said.
He told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that: “The country’s middle belt is already experiencing the season, whilst rain making systems are also developing over the coastal areas.”
He said the Eastern Coast of the country had experienced some rainfall during the past week, explaining that rains were expected over the coastal areas of the country in the course of the week.
Some rainfall statistics given by Mr. Portuphy for the past week were Accra-12.9 millimeters (mm), Koforidua-54.2mm, Abetifi-15mm, Sefwi Bekwai-5.6mm and Sunyani-2.0mm.
He said Northern Ghana, on the other hand, was still experiencing its major and only rainy season.
Some rainfall statistics for the North in the past week were Yendi-6.6mm, Tamale-17.0mm, Bole-8.8mm, Wa-8.0mm and Navrongo-2.6mm.
