Reconsider Nana Abas Suspension GIBA To TV3

The Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) has appealed to the Management of TV3 to temper justice with mercy by reconsidering their decision to interdict their employee, Nana Aba Anamoah. The presenter, who has been involved in a media frenzy following her prank twitter post, was suspended indefinitely by the station. However GIBA is appealing to the Board and Management of the station to take a second look at their decision and also take into consideration the several appeals that have come from fellow media practitioners over the last couple of days for a reversal of the decision. The Association in a statement signed by its President, Akwasi Agyemang, also cautioned media houses to exercise circumspection in their reportage of the issues and avoid acts that will further heighten tensions between the two parties. TV3 in a statement on Saturday said Nana Aba has been taken off air following the social media frenzy that ensued over her tweeting of pictures that did not belong to her and misrepresenting herself. Management of the station claim they have been embarrassed by the presenters actions, hence the decision to suspend her. In a press release after an internal investigation carried out by the management, she was taken off air until further notice despite apologizing for posting someone elses pictures, which suggested she was at her favourite team, Manchester Uniteds game in England. Hundreds of social media users, media personalities and largely followers of the presenter, have joined a campaign tagged #bringbackNanaAba to get her reinstated.
