Ill Force Committee To Unmask Anas Captain Effah-Dartey Boasts

Senior legal practitioner and New Patriotic Party (NPP) apparatchiki, Captain Nkrabeah Effah-Dartey (Rtd) is at his boasting wit. He has just joined the band wagon of lawyers running riots over the way ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, appears in court whenever the special committee set to interrogate the case.

Capt. Effah Dartey believes Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ style of disguising himself at the Committee sitting is against the law, and insists the Chief justice should immediately cause his arrest because he (Anas) also disguised himself and lured the judges into corruption.

“I wish to have the opportunity to cross examine him (Anas) and trust me, he and his team will regret the day he was born. I will ask the committee to remove the mask and if they fail I will personally force them to remove it to tell us truth” he boasted.

Speaking on Asempa FM in Accra yesterday, the lawyer whose clients is one of the accused High Court judges said he is considering suing Anas since his actions could be interpreted as calculated to trap his client, justice Ayisi Addo.

Justice Ayisi Addo was suspended along with six other judges implicated in the scandal on the orders of the Vice President, Paa Kwasi Amissah Arthur, acting as president in the absence of John Dramani Mahama.

The affected judges are Justice Francis K. Opoku, Kofi Essel Mensah, John Ajet Nasam, Ernest Obimpeh, Kwame Ohene Essel and Ivy Heward-Mills.

“Their suspension follows the establishment of a prima facie case of stated misbehavior against them by the hon. Lady Chief justice pursuant to Article 146(3) of the 1992 Constitution and the setting up of a committee under Article 146(4) to investigate a petition,” a statement from the judicial Service department said.

Captain Nkrabeah Effah-Dartey further maintains the footage given to the CJ does not show his client receiving any money as he sacked the Tiger Eye PI team from his home, and thus wondered why he was included in the list of suspended judges.

“Regardless of the immunity granted to him (Anas), though we will not institute any action against Anas, we will have him punished in one way or another, in terms of compensation. (We will) demand massive cost because what he has done is improper, is unethical, is immoral,” the lawyers declared.
