NPP Women�s Organiser Calls Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe�s Bluff
The Women Organiser of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Otiko Afisa Djaba has called Dr. Nyaho Nyaho- Tamakloe’s bluff, saying the party will win next year’s general elections without his contribution.
“Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and NPP will win the 2016 elections without any help from founding member, Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, Ms. Djaba stated on Thursday, in Kumasi during the flagbearer’s tour.
Dr. Nyaho- Tamakloe, a leading member of the NPP, earlier this week rubbished the party’s flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s ongoing nationwide tour which has been dubbed “Rise and Build”.
According to Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, the tour is just a waste of time and should be treated with contempt by all well-meaning party activists.
“This ‘Rise and Build’ tour will not help anybody; it will not help the party. It will not help the cause of the party at all,” he stated.
He further expressed worry over the wrangling within the party, and accused the flagbearer of sidelining his National Chairman, Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong during his ongoing tour.
“Nana Akufo-Addo knows very well that you cannot win political power with a divided front. If anybody cannot tell him, I can tell him. If people are afraid of Nana Akofo-Addo, I am not afraid of him.”
“Those latter-day saints around him are creating big problems for him,” Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe added.
He further advised that the NPP needed a united front, without that, “we cannot win power. A united front is a key to success in any political institution.”
In response, the party’s women organiser said Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe enjoys being called a senior party member, but does nothing to help the efforts of the team to win political power in 2016.
She, therefore urged, supporters of the NPP to ignore Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe’s criticism and rather focus on rallying efforts towards victory.
The tour, which would end in the national capital, Accra, on October 12, 2015, aimed at galvanising votes for the flagbearer, ahead of the December 2016 elections.
