Upper East Denkyira NPP Boils As Independent Candidate Emerges

A former Chairman of Young Elephants, Mr. Patrick Adu, has declared his intentions to contest the parliamentary seat as an independent candidate in the Upper East Denkyira the constituency.

According to him, he had to take so much into considerations before arriving at such a decision.

Among the decisions, he noted, was the threat by members of the party and the town folks to vote ‘skirt and blouse’ in the impending elections because of the loss of confidence they have in the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Nana Amoako.

In a recent survey, it was realised that the gap between NDC and NPP was closing up, creating a lot of tension among members of the party.

That, coupled with pressure mounted on him by people of Upper East Denkyira to contest the seat, informed his decision to contest the elections, since he could not stand to see NDC win the parliamentary elections.

Bro Pat, as he is popularly known has the backings of majority of the populace in the constituency including some chiefs.

He has therefore asked that he be voted to parliament to effect the change needed to improve their living standards.

Bro Pat said he entered the race not for his personal gains, but to seek the welfare of the ordinary person in the constituency.

He promised to run an open-policy administration where he would disclose his share of the MP's Common Fund to the people and discuss with them the needed projects to be undertaken

Mr. Patrick Adu expressed much concern in the development and uplifting the image of the Denkyira Township to the appreciation of all and sundry; hence his keen interest to contest for the Parliamentary seat come 2016 election..
