Mother Abandons Two-Day Old Baby @ Tamale

Residents around the Tamale West Hospital this morning rescued a two-day old baby girl suspected to be abandoned by its parent currently being hunted for.

peacefmonline.com discovered that the infant was 'thrown away' at about 12:30 am this morning and was found by a patient on admission at the hospital who had gone to use the washroom.

The baby was wrapped in a cloth and placed on the verandah of the Eye Clinic in the hospital.

The unnamed patient who found the baby girl said she heard the baby screaming alone in that dusky morning, she advanced further and looked around seeing nobody she realized the baby was abandoned.

The baby was immediately rushed to the pediatrician ward for attention and later taken to the Regional office of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service.

The incident comes just some few weeks ago at the same hospital when one Vida Golomesio stole a baby boy and was fined for stealing and kidnapping by the Tamale Magistrate Court.

peacefmonline.com as at the time of this report couldn't reach the police public relations officer as all his mobile phone contacts were off but a source close to the police said the police had sent a search team to look for the mother of the baby.

The source appealed to the public to help his outfit in apprehending the suspected mother.
