Essien To Replicate Chelsea Form For Ghana

Ghana midfield maestro Michael Essien says he will replicate his form for Chelsea to help the Black Stars defeat Sudan in Sundays World Cup qualifier. The England-based player arrived in the country on Tuesday night ahead of the Group Four game to be played in Accra. The Chelsea enforcer is enjoying a rich vein of form for the ruthless English side who have won all their Premier League matches so far this season. Essien says he will use the game to help the Black Stars defeat the Nile Crocodiles to keep Ghana on course for a second successive World Cup appearance. 'I have been playing well for Chelsea and I am hoping to carry the same form into the Sudan game on Sunday, Essien said on his official website www.michaelessiengh.com. We must win against Sudan because to qualify for the World cup you must be strong at home and fight away from home. So far we have been strong both home and away and we must continue the rich vein of form. Ghanaians expect us to win every game and thats what the whole team will be fighting for on Sunday. Hopefully we will be good enough for all three points, Essien added. Ghana have been ruthless in the second phase of the World Cup qualifiers beating all their opponents without conceding a goal. The Black Stars are top of Group D with three games to go and they will be looking for another win to all but secure their place at the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola and South Africas 2010 World Cup.
