Nana Addo And Wontumi Want To Prevent Northerners And Voltarians From Voting - Koku

The Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, says the fight for new voters’ register by the opposition NPP is not genuinely intended to call for credible register.

According to him, the motive of the NPP which is masterminded by the party’s flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo with the help from the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako want to deny Northerners and Voltarians from voting in the region.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Koku Anyidoho insisted there is no iota of truth in the allegations raised by the opposition NPP about the current voters’ register; describing the move of the party as ‘falsehood, fabrication and lies’ which is schemed to achieve a particular purpose in the Ashanti region as per the NDC’s reliable information.

In explaining the real motive of the NPP, Koku Anyidoho asserted the opposition has not been able produce any information about its alleged Burkinabe nationals and other border countries infiltrated in Ghana’s voters’ register because the Togolese allegation is fabricated and sham.

“Up till now we have not seen Burkina Faso voters’ register and any of the bordering countries register they mentioned…they have no case; they just gave fake information to Dr. Bawumia to read to Ghanaians about supposed Togolese nationals in Ghana’s voters’ register,” he chided.

“We have picked very credible information that the whole idea of this whole new voters’ register, it is Wontumi and his group who want to prevent Northerners and Voltarians from registering in Ashanti region. They will label all Voltarians as Togolese and all Northerners Burkinabe…we know that Wontumi and his group led by Nana Akufo-Addo, they are planning to label Voltarians as Togolese and Northerners will label Burkinabe in Ashanti region and they will prevent them from registering,” he asserted.
