Nana Akufo Addo Wants To Be A Rebel Leader - Koku Anyidoho

Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho has slammed flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, accusing him of being infatuated with being president at all cost, even if it will mean 'power-sharing'.

Likening the NPP flagbearer to a "rebel-leader", Mr Anyidoho asserts the former's unbridled quest to be president in spite of his waning popularity among Ghanaians, is why he (Nana Addo) is scheming to deny the people of Volta and Northern Region from voting in the Ashanti region.

He adds that the recent agitations by some pro-opposition pressure groups for a new voters’ register are all the handiworks of the NPP leader.

The former Communications Director at the Presidency claims the 2016 NPP flgabearer is behind the various political pressure groups, especially the Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA's) demand for a new voters’ register.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Koku Anyidoho posited that the agenda of the NPP flagbearer, is to prepare the grounds for chaos, mayhem and possible civil strife because he knows he cannot win any election fairly.

I have said already that Nana Akufo Addo wants to become a rebel leader in this country. He knows he cannot win any election in this country; he wants to be a rebel leader so that we can go to the negotiation table to share power in this country”, he stated.

Recounting the political history of the UP Tradition which gave birth to the NPP, Koku Anyidoho said the opposition party, since its UP days has never accepted that Volta region is part of Ghana and still considers them (people from Volta Region) as part of Trans-Volta Togoland; thus Togolese.

He reiterated that the attempt to label Voltarians as Togolese and Northerners as Burkinabes, and deny them the right to register and vote in this country is a recipe for chaos.

NPP has never accepted the fact that Volta region is part of Ghana. They have forgotten that in 1956, there was a Plebiscite that changed Trans-Volta Togoland and made it part of Gold Coast which is now Ghana....When we don’t vote for the NPP, they say we are inward looking,” he stated.
