NDC To Clean Register

PLANS ARE under the way by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to clean its recently compiled party register to get rid of non-party members whose names have found their way into the party’s book.

Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the NDC General Secretary, said some New Patriotic Party (NPP) members were bragging that they had unjustifiably managed to register when the NDC registered its members, nationwide.

He said the wild allegations being made by the NPP members were not being taken lightly by the ruling political party, stating that the NDC would strictly audit the party’s register and delete alien names from it.

Asiedu Nketia announced that very soon the NDC would display names of all registered party members across the country so that non-party members could be figured out and have their names removed.

He admonished known NDC members to open their eyes wide by filling forms to protest against people who they think are not real NDC members so that names of such people could be deleted from the book.

Asiedi Nketia was addressing a colossal number of NDC members that converged on the Youth Center at Ahensan in Kumasi on Sunday to welcome President Mahama and his wife to the region.

President Mahama was in the region to jaw-jaw with party members as part of nationwide tour, christened ‘Endorsement Tour,’ geared towards revitalizing the ruling political party.

Asiedu Nketia urged NDC supporters not to panic about noise being made by some few people that the national voters register would be replaced, noting that nobody would change the register.

He said people in opposition, who form the minority in the country, are the ones pushing for the change of the voters register, saying they cannot overpower the NDC who forms the majority.

Asiedu Nketia therefore admonished the NDC members to remain calm and confident that their party leaders would ensure that what is best for their beloved political party would be done.
