Wife of Former President Jerry John Rawlings, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings says she does not have a friendship with any of Ghana’s first ladies – both former and current.

According to her, she accords all of them the respect they deserve but said that was all there was to it.

“I don’t have a friendship, there is no relationship…let me put it that way. Three have come on and even though I knew Mrs Kufuor before she became first lady, we did not have a relationship.

“But if I met her somewhere I’ll go to her and greet her appropriately and that is the same for the rest”, she said on Joy FM on Tuesday.

In her response to the public’s notion that she is a difficult person, Mrs Agyeman Rawlings said it was just a misconception.

“I think it is a perception but it stems from [her conviction that] right is right, wrong is wrong. That’s what I’ve been brought up to know… that if someone has done the wrong thing, you don’t pat them on the back and say well done.

“What are the things you have to do to let the person know they shouldn’t repeat that thing again... there are laid down rules and if you follow the rules then they may say you’re a bad person.”, she said.
