Evangelist Causes Father-In-Laws Arrest

An evangelist caused a stir when he asked the police to arrest his 60-year-old father-in-law for allegedly duping him of GH3, 900.00 under the pretext of Selling land to him.

The father-in-law, Kofi Adaboh, was said to have collected the money from the son-in-law, Francis Kofi Owusu Nkwantabisa, in 2011, and vanished into thin air, until September 2, 2015, when he was arrested by the police.

Adaboh was charged with defrauding by false pretenses and arraigned before a Circuit Court in Kumasi.

He pleaded guilty with explanation, but the court, presided over by Mrs. Afia Adu-Amakwa, entered not guilty plea, and granted him bail of GH5, 000.00 with a surety to re-appear on November 19, 2015 for trail to begin.

According to the Prosecutor, Chief Inspectors Comfort Kyei Baffour, Nkwantabisah and his father-in-law lived at the same place at Bosore.

The prosecution said, the evangelist in 2011 informed the father-in-law of his intention to buy land.

Mr. Adaboh was said to have promised the son-in-law to get him the land at Bosore and collected GH3,900.00 to buy a land that belonged to a friend whose name was given as Abrefa.

The prosecution said all efforts by Nkwantabisa for his father-in-law to either get him the land or his money proved futile.
