Participate in communal labour, Ghanaians advised.

Mr Clement Asante Asare, the Director of Public Affairs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, has urged Ghanaians to participate in communal activities in their communities. Communal labour is the surest way of eradicating breeding grounds for mosquitoes and keep the surroundings clean without waiting for government assistance, he said. Mr. Asare was speaking at a service project of the church in Takoradi on Monday. Mr. Asare said as part of the annual project books, hospital equipment and clean-up exercises are organised. The project, which is the third of its kind in the country, saw members of the church cleaning, weeding, planting green grass, desilting gutters and mopping the Takoradi Hospital, Twin-City Special School at Essipong, the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) Hall at Fijai and the Regional Coordinating Council. Madam Eunice Rhule, the Ward Orderly of the Maternity Ward at the Takoradi Hospital, commended the church for helping to clean the hospital and its environs. She urged other churches and institutions to emulate the example of the church. We need more hands to clean the hospital since our cleaners are not adequate to do all the jobs here, she said.
