Dont allow politics to divide you, Christians urged

Madam Martha Bruckner, District Chief Executive (DCE) of Ejura-Skyeredumasi in the Ashanti Region has advised Christians not to allow politics to divide them. She explained that Christians were supposed to be united at all times by not giving way for fleeting and worldly businesses such as politics to break the bond between them and God. The DCE gave the advice at the closing ceremony of the National Annual Warriors Retreat organized by the Scripture Union (SU) in Sekyeredumasi. Mrs Bruckner said it was the duty of all Christians to reconcile the world with God as they were the disciples of Jesus Christ and not to tolerate separation among the people of God. She added that by so doing, they would be living exemplary lives for others to emulate, thereby promoting unity and peace in the country to enhance development. The DCE also called on the believers to support the countrys leaders with unceasing prayers in order to guide them to make the right decisions. Mrs Bruckner, however, reminded Ghanaians on the need to encourage girl-child education which was the way to eliminate poverty. Professor Samuel Afranie, Chairman of the SU Council, charged politicians not to forsake the task bestowed on them, saying, they had been made stewards of the country, thus, they would be called upon to account one day. Personalities that attended the four-day programme included the Right Reverend Dr. Yaw Frimpong-Manso, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church and Chairman of the Christian Council, Ghana, Right Reverend Daniel Yinkah Sarfo, Anglican Bishop and Professor Emmanuel Frimpong, President of the Christian Service University College, all products of the SU.
