I Will Teach Uncircumcised Ayariga A Lesson- Aspiring Bawku MP Vows

As the National Democratic Congress gears up for their upcoming parliamentary primaries on 21st November 2015, an aspiring candidate for Bawku Central, Alhaji Ibrahim Dori has promised to oust the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area.

The current MP for the area Mahama Ayariga, was elected into office in 2005 but lost the seat to Adamu Dramani Sakande of the New Patriotic Party in the 2008 elections. He however recaptured in 2012 after a court jailed Adamu and the seat became vacant.

Going into the 2016 elections with Ayariga is one thing Alhaji Dori fears for the NDC. He anticipates the party would lose the seat again to their opponent should delegates vote for an incompetent leader like Ayariga.

A confident Alhaji Ibrahim Dori tells Peacefmonline.com in an interview that the time has come to give Bawku a pragmatic leadership style by contesting and further retaining the seat to the NDC which some have tipped to be a one of the various casualties awaiting the NDC in 2016.

Despite contesting an opponent saddled with resources that could play a role in retaining him as a legislator, Alhaji Dori shrugged that point off maintaining that majority of the delegates from Bawku Central would vote Hon. Ayariga out based on his incompetence.

Alhaji Ibrahim Amadu Dori, a thirty-year-old building and roads Engineer explained that “I feel like David going against Goliath in this contest.

From history we read David, a young lad went against an uncircumcised opponent who had every weapon at his disposal. In the end, God gave David the strength to defeat an enemy who was armed to the teeth with just a stone”.

“This same lesson would be repeated at the Bawku Central on 21st November, 2015. The constituents are looking forward to see development in their lives but what do we see, the entire Bawku Township lacks good roads and portable water to enhance good health in the area”, he said.

Due to reports of challenges, the National Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress had to postpone the party's Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries from the 7th of this month to the 21st of this month across the country.
