The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) says it has information that some unscrupulous individuals are misinforming.
unsuspecting members of the public and charging between GH¢1,000 and GH¢2,000 with a promise to have them recruited into the GIS.
“We wish to state categorically that the Service has not embarked on any recruitment exercise for 2015 and has not engaged the services of any persons as agents to conduct any recruitment exercise on its behalf.
“Members of the public are, therefore, advised to report to the police persons demanding money with the supposed intention of assisting them to secure a job with the GIS and those posing as job contractors or agents of the Service.
“Any future recruitment exercise would be duly advertised in the local newspapers,” Comptroller of Immigration (COI) Francis Palmdeti, Head of Public Affairs, GIS, said in a statement.
It explained that 99 of its serving officers, including two lawyers began Cadet Officer training at the Immigration Service Academy at Assin Fosu on November 6, 2015.
It comprises 64 serving Senior Inspectors who pursued various first degree programmes and had duly presented their certificates to the Service, 33 Senior Inspectors (Junior Officers) due for promotion selected on merit after a competitive examination in that regard and two professional lawyers, who are Officer Cadets.
