Kwesi Pratt Throws Weight Behind Sammy Crabbe

Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has thrown his weight behind the Second vice chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Sammy Crabbe claiming he does not recognize Freddie Blay as the chairman of the party.

According to Mr. Pratt, leaders of the party have for some time now tolerated various conducts worse than what Sammy Crabbe has said therefore could not fathom why his (Crabbe) members should descend on him over his views.

Reacting at the back of decision made by Sammy Crabbe that he does not see Freddie Blay as the chairman of the party, Mr. Pratt said the biggest opposition party resorting to suspensions upon suspensions as its first reaction does not augur well for a party that is supposed to keep a ruling government in check but will rather end up destroying the destiny of the party.

He is backing calls by some members of the party to retain suspended chairman Paul Afoko.

Sammy Crabbe said the return of the embattled chairman means the decision of the delegates at its Tamale Congress last year has been respected.

And until that is done, he will never recognize the current acting chair as the chairman of the party.

But Kwesi Pratt on Adom FM Thursday noted that some people have made sacrifices to build the party to its current level “and so you people should stop destroying your party and learn to patch it”.

He continued that “how many will be left if you (NPP) continue to suspend all its leaders".

"NPP or NDC on its own strength cannot win an election and so you need to do something as a party that can attract people in order to get more votes in an election but for now the NPP is making it impossible for people to join the party” he indicated.
