Karbo Questions Kudalors Appointment As IGP: He Made Me Lose An Election To An NDC Man

NPPs Anthony Abayifaa Karbo doubt the credibility of COP John Kudalor as the new acting Inspector General of Police.

COP John Kudalor was appointed on Monday by President John Dramani Mahama to replace the current IGP Mohammed Alhassan who begins his accumulated leave as he prepares to go on retirement.

But the NPP Member of Parliament [MP] aspirant for Lawra constituency in the Upper West Region says the new IGP is likely to work in favour of the ruling NDC if his position is maintained till 2016 election.

He explained that-COPJohn Kudalor in 2012 shuttered his dream of representing the people of Lawra in parliament.

Karbo lost to the NDCs aspirant, Abu Assibey Samson - after resigning his post in the NPP to contest the seat which is one of the 45 newly created constituencies.

Mr. Assibey Samson had 12,735 to beat Karbo who polled 6,538 according to the certifiedresults of the 2012 election.

According to the NPP man he did not have an ample time to campaign for the election when COP JohnKudalor kept inviting him unnecessarilyto the police headquarters to explain a plotted doctored tape" charged against him.

Anthony Karbo was alleged to be recruiting mercenaries for purposes of the 2012 December elections - the tape, unraveled by pro-government pressure group Research and Advocacy Platform [RAP], sent the tape to the Police CID for investigation.

Anthony Karbo was said to be the person on the controversial tape but vehemently dismissed the allegations claiming the voice on the tape couldn't possibly be his.

But the convener of RAP and NDCs Felix Kwakye Ofosu insisted the voice on the tape was incontrovertibly that of the former NPP Youth Organizer but after investigation, Karbo was cleared.

Speaking on NEAT FMs morning show Ghana Montie Karbo maintained that some decisions made by COP Kudalor in 2012 was meant to give the NDC a political advantage in an election hence he was appointed to help the party again in 2016.

He asked me to suspend my campaign and come to Accra for interrogations. He gave the opponent an advantage to campaign all around and destroy my name when he know the tape was not my voice. What else will Kudalor act on as IGP? he quizzed.

He told host Kwasi Aboagye that I lost my elections because of Kudalor.
