The acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr. John Kudalor, has warned that his administration will not compromise with any criminal­ity from supporters of any political party.

He said this in Accra yesterday, in his first public interview granted to The Ghanaian Times since his appointment on Monday by the President. He stressed that he would ensure the rule of law is maintained, adding under no circumstance will his administration compromise with any act of criminality.

He also assured that he would cre­ate equal opportunities for the political parties in the country to operate. Commenting on next year's elec­tions, Mr. Kudalor promised to engage all political parties and educate them on the rules of the game to ensure peaceful elections.

"The police cannot do it all alone; we would bring all on board to educate the political parties on the rules and regulations to ensure a peaceful elec­tion next year," he stressed.

The acting IGP assured Ghanaians of a world-class professional and well-resourceful Police Service in the country, saying his administration would ensure a world-class standard policing as far as the enforcement of law and order for the security and safety of the citizenry were concerned.

He also promised to operate an Open Door policy to give all officers equal opportunity to perform their duties to the best of their ability.

Mr. John Kudalor was on Monday, November 9, appointed to the position of acting Inspector-General of Police by the President John Dramani Mahama, upon the advice of the Council of State.

Until his appointment to the top-most seat in the Police Service, Mr. Kudalor was the Director-General of Police Operations, a position he had held since May 2009.
