A 19-year-old man is facing trial for allegedly damaging three teeth of a banker with a single blow.

The accused person Joseph Tetteh, struck the complainant after he tried to separate the young man and his friend who were engaged in a fight.

The accused person was put before an Accra Circuit, presided over by Mrs. Afia Agbaney Kudomor and charged with causing harm. He pleaded not guilty.

He has been granted bail in the sum of GH¢10,000 with two sureties while the case has been adjourned to November 25, 2015.

The prosecutor, ASP Patience Agbodeka told the court that the complainant is a banker who resides at Akweteman, a suburb of Accra while the accused is a 19-year-old unemployed man who resides at Achimota.

According to her, on April 19, the banker, who was on his way to buy shoe polish, saw the accused person and his friend fighting at the section of the road at Achimota.

She said the banker tried to separate the two friends after which he continued his journey.

The accused person, who was not pleased, followed the banker and struck him.

The police officer said the matter was referred to Achimota Government Hospital and the banker was treated by a dentist, who told him that he would remove another tooth at a later date.

In addition, the prosecuting officer stated that the accused person was arrested and he admitted the offence in his caution statement.
