A leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has described the argument of President John Mahama that nobody in the opposition NPP is qualified to ascribe his administration incompetent as “ignorance and illiteracy”.

Speaking to a cheering crowd as part of his #changinglives tour – President Mahama however questioned NPP’s Bawumia frequent accusation that he [Prez Mahama] is “Incompetent”.

“I’ll take that word from Kufuor or from Rawlings because they’ve been there before. All of you guys [NPP critics] have never ever come near the presidency. [Do] you know what it takes to be a President? And you stand and say incompetent Mahama administration,” Mahama fumed.

According to the maverick NPP Assin Central MP, President Mahama’s argument that only former President Kufuor and President Rawlings qualify to criticize his administration as incompetent is baseless argument which normally comes from ignorant and illiterate.

“President Mahama cleverly speaks trash and as a president speaking such trash, if we reply him in that manner, Ghanaians will say we don’t respect. But seriously, he has displayed ignorance…with President Mahama’s argument, only illiterate will argue like that; I’m sorry,” he fumed on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show.

He elaborated that per President Mahama’s argument, it is wrong to criticize the Democrat government by the Republican Party in America’s Senate and Congress debate since they are not presidents of America.

To him, it is baffling to hear President Mahama speaks as if he has not been to school before; insisting it is only illiterate who will argue like this.

He reminded President Mahama that he often-times criticized President Kufuor when he was just a Member of Parliament and not President; and further wondered why President Mahama has appointees in his administration who also once poured invectives on former President Kufuor.
