John, You're So Good; John, You're Kind...Incompetent Is Your Name - K Duncan Serenades Prez

Central Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwamena Duncan has fired back at President John Dramani Mahama for lashing out at his party and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia by composing a rendition of a popular Christian song.

Addressing a gathering during his #changinglives, transforming Ghana Tour, President John Mahama questioned the NPP's Dr. Bawumia's right to describe his administration as "incompetent".

“Did you hear Bawumia say incompetent Mahama? You’ve never held any responsibility anywhere near the presidency before; you don’t know what it is like to be President.

“I’ll take that word from Kufour or from Rawlings because they’ve been there before. All of you guys [NPP critics] have never ever come near the presidency. [Do] you know what it takes to be a President? And you stand and say incompetent Mahama administration,” President Mahama fumed.

Some elements in the NPP have found the President's remarks offensive.

Kwamena Duncan wondered why the President is crying foul when he (Mahama) has over the years maligned Ghanaians through his utterances. He also reminded him of his poor administration and the perennial economic challenges that have characterized his leadership.

To Kwamena Duncan, President Mahama is engaging in "gutter politics".

We expect the President to elevate his politics. The President is a President. A President indeed sets the shining examples for all others to follow. A President must not engage in gutter politics. All Ghanaians (good-meaning/well-meaning) must bow their heads in shame regarding the remarks that President Mahama made at the Trade Fair.

Contributing to panel discussion on Peace FM's Kokrokoo Wednesday, Kwamena Duncan questioned the President's ability to develop the nation.

In a derisive tone, the NPP Regional Secretary composed a song for the President.

John, you’re so good. John, you’re kind. John, you’re so wonderful. Our John, you’re excellent. Incompetent is your name. Incompetent you have been. Incompetent you will forever be. Our John, you’re incompetent. Corrupt you have been. Corrupt you’ll forever be. Corrupt, you’re always. Our John, you’re incompetent,” he sung on Kokrokoo.
