They are Abdu Manan Abubakar Mohammed alias Baby Boy or For Real, an electrician; Abdul Razak Mohammed alias Benzino, cobbler; Abdul Hakeem Abdulai, student ; Godwin Owusu Ansah, unemployed and Michael Boah also an electrician.

They were charged with conspiracy to commit crime to wit robbery and possession of firearm without authority and abetment of crime.

They all pleaded not guilty to the charges and were remanded into prison custody to reappear on November 23, 2015.

They were alleged to have robbed one Kwabena Amakye, a taxi driver of his mobile phone and cash sum of GH¢75.00

Presenting the facts of the case, Chief Inspector Felix Akowuah told the court that on November 4, this year at around 3:30a.m., Mohammed and Razak, at Aboabo, a suburb of Kumasi hired Amakye to send them to Suame.

He said Mohammed sat in front, while Razak sat right behind Amakye.

C/Inspector Akowuah said when Amakye was about turning towards Suame, Mohammed turned off the ignition, took out the key, pointed a pistol at Amakye and ordered him to surrender all his money and mobile phone.

He said Razak, then slapped Amakye to compel him to obey the instructions.

Mohammed then searched him and took the money and mobile phone from his pocket after which Amakye was ordered to drive the taxi away or risked being shot at.

Amakye later lodged a complaint with the police and the two were traced to a place near the Plaza Hotel junction at Dichemso where they were arrested.

A search conducted on them revealed a locally made pistol and eight mobile phones believed to have been snatched from their owners.

During interrogation, they mentioned the three persons as the ones who supplied them with the pistol for the robbery.
