The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has presented a cheque of Ghs 15,000.00 to the GRAFT Foundation.
This is for the treatment of Dennis Yeboah, an eighteen month old toddler who has suffered deep superficial burns on the face, neck and upper trunk.
The burns occurred when a lit candle came into contact with a mosquito net under which Dennis was sleeping and caught fire causing severe burns to him.
Corporate Communications Manager of NLA, Kesewaah Dolphyne said the Authority was deeply moved by the plight of Dennis and decided to respond promptly to the call for funds to aid in his treatment.
The donation which forms part of the NLA’s Corporate Social Responsibility is one of several the Authority has made to improve the lives of the citizenry particularly in the area of health.
Chairman of the Graft Foundation and Head of the Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit at the 37 Military Hospital, Dr. Abrokwaa-Yankyera who received the donation on behalf of Dennis thanked NLA for the assistance and called on other organizations to emulate the gesture.
Dennis has so far undergone four surgeries and is recuperating.
