We Will Not Have Sleepless Nights Over EIU Report - Koku Anyidoho

The governing NDC says it is not bothered by the Economist Intelligent Unit report which suggested that President John Mahama will lose the 2016 general elections.

“We are still focused on delivering on our better Ghana agenda so 2016 will come Ghanaians will make a decision. The EIU report is not going to give us any sleepless night at all”, Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho told Joy News.

The UK-based Economist Intelligence Unit in its November issue, says its intelligence analysis points to a victory for the NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo Addo.

The report also pointed out the mishandling of the recent floods in Accra and the subsequent demolition exercise undertaken by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly in a bid to prevent a recurrence are one of the reasons electorates might vote against the NDC.

Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho says the party is aware of challenges facing Ghanaians but the government will surmount them in order to win the mandate of Ghanaians in 2016.

“Nobody is running away from the fact that there are challenges, the President and the party has never run away from that fact”, he told Joy News Manasseh Azure Awuni.

He said the numerous projects being undertaken by the government in “every nook and cranny of the country… is historic” and that cannot be underrated.

“If you go to Tanyigbe – my village – I’m seeing GETFUND projects coming up, there is a tar road now form Ho through to Akwefe through Tanyigbe going into Shia and this is only one enclave, it is being replicated in many more enclaves.

“So if the EIU says the NPP is going to win, fine. We have never been complacent. We have always said that the implosion is not our focus."
