Deputy Ashanti NDC Women's Organizer Wins Parliamentary Primary

Ejisu (Ash), Nov. 24, GNA – Deputy Ashanti Regional Women’s Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Miss Gloria Huze, has been elected the party’s parliamentary candidate for Ejisu.

She polled 1,150 votes to beat off the challenge by former Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Kwaku Afrifa Yamoh Ponko, and one other person, Mr. K. Obeng Darko, who received 366 and 796 votes, respectively.

Miss Huze pledged to work with everybody to wrest the parliamentary seat - considered to be one of the safest for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

She said through the combination of hard work, commitment and sacrifice, the seat would be delivered to the NDC in 2016.

The defeated pair promised to stand shoulder to shoulder with her to achieve electoral victory.
