A middle aged man has been confirmed dead after a semi-detached building under construction collapsed on him near the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in the Ashanti region.
The deceased whose name was only given as Monamee according to reports died instantly.
An eyewitness, Ofosu who spoke to Adom News said the man was working in the building when suddenly everything came tumbling down.
He indicated that, Monamee was trapped under the rubble for hours before giving up his ghost.
“The entire town has been thrown in mourning because he wife has just given birth three months ago” he added.
Mr. Ofosu said frantic efforts are being made to retrieve the body of the deceased from the debris.
