Sports Analysts' In Africa Give Black Stars Thumbs Up

Some football analysts around the African Continent, have been applauding the Black Stars of Ghanas sterling performance, for being the first African country to qualify for both the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola and the World Cup in South Africa. Speaking to PeaceFm News this afternoon, Sifiso Ramara, a Sports Journalist with South Africa Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), said he was not surprised at the feat chalked by the Black Stars, as the current squad of players, can match any team in the world. He yearned for the qualification of established powerhouses in African football alongside Ghana at the World Cup. In 2006, Ghana, fortunately were thereit would be nice for Africa to be represented by the best like Nigeria, Cameroun...Ghana has always been a formidable side in Africa and their participation in South Africa 2010 will strengthen Africas representation, he added. On his part, Chairman of the Sports Writers Association in Togo, Mr. Masro Hans, was full of praise for the Kwesi Nyantakyi led administration and hoped for higher heights. Its a fallout of good organizationi have always had faith in Kwesi Nyantakyi and the entire Ghana FA and I hope that can inspire or be a foot print for other bodies to emulate, he said. But an obviously irritated Tibolo Oduaa, a Sports Presenter of Ray PowerFm in Nigeria, whiles hopeful that the Black Stars will make a good name for themselves in South Africa 2010, could not hide his disappointment, after the Super Eagles of Nigeria drew 2:2 with Tunisia yesterday. Tibolo, who was livid with anger, lambasted the Nigerian Football Association for the teams performance in the drawn game and described the current team as weak.
