Woman, 76, Raps NPP

A 76-year-old woman at Ash Town, a suburb of Kumasi, has attributed the recent infighting in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to spiritual attacks by some detractors.

Maame Akuabakomah therefore appealed passionately to the NPP faithful across the country, including Muslims, Christians and others belonging to other faiths, to pray fervently for the party.

According to the old lady, who claimed to be a staunch NPP member, the signs are clear that some fiendish people, who detest the progress of the party, were clandestinely working against the NPP spiritually.

She said infighting and violent acts are alien to the NPP, adding that “so if suddenly our party members who are noted to be peaceful and law-abiding citizens are attacking each other, then something is wrong.”

Maame Akuabakomah urged the NPP leadership not to ignore her advice, maintaining that “spiritually the NPP is down and therefore the party needs spiritual intervention and I am suggesting prayers.”

The old lady disclosed this while addressing a large number of residents of Odumase Electoral Area at Ash Town on Sunday during the ‘Meet Your MP’ programme organized by the Member of Parliament (MP) of Manhyia South, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh.

The lawmaker, also known as ‘Napo,’ has instituted the programme to enable him interact freely with his constituents to know their problems so that he could find antidote to them.

Maame Akuabakomah told the enthusiastic crowd that she was unhappy because of spiritual attacks by some faceless people against her beloved party.

She stated that the NPP boasts of knowledgeable people who can come out with effective policies to lessen the plight of Ghanaians, adding that everything must be done to save the party from its spiritual tribulations.

Napo, who listened attentively to the old lady, assured her that the NPP would unite in time and win the 2016 elections to introduce better programmes to develop the country properly.
