I Never Said It Was Dangerous To Make Akufo Addo President Fmr Natl. Security Boss

Former National Security Coordinator under the erstwhile Kufour Administration, Mr Francis Poku has denied media reports that he had said it would be risky for Ghanaians to hand over power to the largest opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) come 2016 election.

According to him, such malicious report could only come from persons who were out there to cause disaffection for him and also tarnish his hard earned reputation.

A report by the pro government Newspaper, Enquirer which circulated on various media platforms said the acclaimed and astute security expert had in an interview with German Media giant, Deutsche Welle indicated that the country will come under serious threat if power is handed to the current NPP setup describing such a future decision as unwise.

However Mr Francis Poku who was sacked by then President John Agyekum Kufour after he had disagreement with the latter put his denial in the mouth of Veteran Journalist Abdul Malik Kweku Baako.

On Joy FM’s News analysis show News File, Saturday, Mr Baako used the opportunity to clear the name of Mr Poku.

“Mr Francis Poku wants to put on public record that he has not spoken to any radio station on earth including the German Deutsche Welle. Indeed yesterday he made contacts with the radio station challenging them to produce any audio evidence of his voice and the so called interview. He wants Ghanaians and whole word to know that he’s been busy in Kumasi on family matters… the one year anniversary of the death of his wife. He says since he returned for his wife’s thing and relocated, both sides of the political divide have shown sympathy and understanding and that he’s not involved in any attempt to invoke partisan sentiments. That report he says is a complete fabrication.”

Nothing has been heard from the reticent former National Security Boss over 8 years after he exited office.
