Church Leaders urged to help the needy in their flock
Col Cyril Necku (Rtd), Deputy Volta Regional Minister, has appealed to the leadership of churches to fashion out good social intervention strategies to support needy members.
The practice of sharing things, which the early Christians observed judiciously, must not be put away or forgotten, but be demonstrated in our daily lives, he said.
Col. Necku said this at the close of the 2009 National Convention of the Lords Pentecostal Church International in Ho.
The Convention was on the theme Reaping the Harvest.
Col. Necku asked Christians to put the Christian maxim to be each others keeper into practice and refrain from only professing it.
He said the ruling National Democratic Congress, which has a philosophy of social democracy, was designing new and pragmatic policies to ensure a better Ghana and called for support from all.
Apostle Richard Buafor, General Overseer of The Lords Pentecostal Church International, urged Christians to act maturely, be peacemakers and not conflict and trouble causers.
We all must turn away from saying immature things and taking immature decisions so that we do not provoke others and offend God, he said.
