A first year female student of Ho Polytechnic met her untimely death this dawn when she was stabbed to death at her hostel by an unknown assailant.
The deceased, Naomi Kpodzro was seen lying in her pool of blood at the courtyard of Divine Star hostel at 3am after struggling to ostensibly flee from an assailant who attacked her in her room.
According to her colleagues in the hostel, they overhead a voice screaming for help and afterwards met Naomi in an unconscious state with her hands tied and chest wounded.
She was later rushed to the Volta Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead after failed attempts by doctors to resuscitate her. The inmates were unable to ascertain what really happened in the room but believe their colleague was murdered by an unknown person.
The management of the polytechnic have confirmed the incident and indicated that the Police has commenced investigations into the matter. This incident follows a similar one that occurred at the University of Development Studies (UDS) where a female student was stabbed to death by her boyfriend.
