Koku Anyidoho Attacks Sefa Kayi, Kweku Baako...Accuses Them Of Being NPP's Hatchet Men

Celebrated Morning Show host of Peace Fm’s flagship “Kokrokoo” program, Chairman-General Kwami Sefa Kayi and Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Kweku Baako were subjected to a scathing attack by Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, who accused them and other senior journalists of conniving with the NPP, especially under the Kufuor regime, to carry out vindictive actions against their political opponents

The NDC Dep Chief Scribe claims the duo, during the administration of ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor, were put on the payroll of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to do a hatchet job for the then government against the opposition NDC.

He was reacting to the assertions by the opposition party led by its Acting National Chairman, Freddie Blay, that the NDC government has bought some journalists to keep their focus on the internal wrangling within the NPP instead of keeping the current administration on its toes.

Mr Anyidoho, who neither denied nor confirmed the NPP's allegations, pointed out that going by the logic of the opposition party's argument, then it is fair to also postulate that Madam Gina Blay, wife of the acting NPP National Chair, was in the pocket of the NPP, since she was almost on all presidential trips during ex-President Kufuor's era.

"...going by the same logic, we can say that the Daily Guide newspaper, during the period of President Kufuor, was on the payroll of the NPP government, because it focused all its energies on the then opposition NDC and not the ruling party," he added.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, the one-time Spokesperson to the late President JEA Mills, alleged that the "Coffee Shop Mafia (CSM)", a group of seasoned journalists and senior editors including "Chairman-General" Sefa Kayi and Kweku Baako, was funded with state resources to undertake public misinformation campaign to suit the agenda of the NPP.

Freddie Blay has exposed himself and activities of the CSM group regarding the group's viled and veiled attacks on the NDC by accusing government of setting up a slush fund, to aid in the fomenting of trouble in the NPP.

He buttressed his point by citing the 60th birthday celebration of Mr Baako in Japan with Mr Kufuor, who he (Koku) claimed was then on an oifficial trip to the East Asian country.

We have seen all these before; they shouldn’t annoy us in this country at all. At the end of the day, what did President Kufuor not do? He gave out big chains as medals to honor Sefa Kayi and Kweku Baako; is it not because of the dirty work they were doing for the NPP? Now, the NPP has guts to complain about the media for reporting on the bad leadership of Akufo Addo and Freddie Blay; he wants to rain insults on some journalists?” he fumed.
