NDC Is Very 'Competent' At Mismanaging The Economy, Creating, Looting and Sharing

"We understand that His Excellency does not want us to use the word incompetent to describe the performance of this government, so we set our minds to finding out what the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government has been very competent at in the last seven years. Actually, we have to admit that his NDC government is very competent."

A few days ago, President John Dramani Mahama chastised the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and their running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for their frequent accusation that he (Prez Mahama) is “Incompetent”.

“Did you hear Bawumia say incompetent Mahama? You’ve never held any responsibility anywhere near the presidency before; you don’t know what it is like to be President. I’ll take that word from Kufuor or from Rawlings because they’ve been there before. All of you guys [NPP critics] have never ever come near the presidency. [Do] you know what it takes to be a President? And you stand and say incompetent Mahama administration,” Mahama fumed while speaking to a cheering crowd as part of his #changinglives tour.

But at a news conference in Accra, while responding to the 2016 budget statement presented in Parliament by Finance Minister Seth Terkper, Dr Bawumia mockingly said: "We understand that His Excellency does not want us to use the word incompetent to describe the performance of this government, so we set our minds to finding out what the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government has been very competent at in the last seven years. Actually, we have to admit that this NDC government is very competent....They (NDC) are very competent at mismanaging the economy. This government is very competent at creating, looting and sharing. This government is very competent at propaganda. This government is very competent at perpetuating dumsor. It’s very competent at increasing unemployment…”

Bawumia lamented that most of the economic policies of the ruling government have destroyed the lives of Ghanaians instead of restoring; adding "this government has delivered one of the worst economic performances of any government in Ghana's history. Many lives have been destroyed, and the economy has been deformed and not transformed. We have kept warning the government that you cannot use propaganda to manage an economy"
