Police Arrest Three 'Chinese' Robbers (PHOTOS)

The Dunkwa Divisional Police Command on Wednesday arrested three suspected armed robbers who attempted to raid the residence of some Chinese miners.

Bediako George of Solar FM reported that the robbers: Kwabena Nyarko, 41; Emmanuel Armah, 26 and Francis Armah 23 (gang leader) attacked the residence of the Chinese miners at Dunkwa-Attekyem, around 2 am.

"...little did they know the police had laid ambush and immediately they entered the house they were arrested" the reporter added.

According to him, Attekyem is highly populated by Chinese miners who keep some of the gold nuggets in their homes. In view of this, they have allegedly become targets for these robbers.

The Divisional Police Command, Chief Supt Gabriel Waagu in an interview with this reporter indicated that they had a tip-off that the robbers were going to attack and "so we laid ambush and when they arrived, we arrested them. They have also confessed to other crimes they have committed in the district".
