In explaining the origin of SEM Mr. Daniel Philips of SEM Global office indicated Shandong Engineering Machinery (SEM) Co. Ltd manufactured SEM branded wheel loaders in China for over 50 years and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Caterpillar in 2008. In 2014, the SEM Company transitioned to Caterpillar (Qingzhou) Ltd and continues to produce SEM branded products. As one important strategic utility product brand of Caterpillar, SEM has its own brand proposition, distribution channels, marketing strategy and product support which its partner Delta Equipment Ghana is providing. The Sales and operations Manager of Delta Equipment Ghana Mr. Andrews Sarpong indicated to the media that SEM is leveraging Caterpillar product development processes and legacy technology in providing quality ready-to-run SEM products offering. The initial affordability, high reliability, simplicity of use and maintenance and responsive support will help the Ghanaian construction industry to have a great alternative to executive projects on time with an unprecedented return on investment.
