The Second Summit of the Forum for China-Africa Cooperation has ended in Johannesburg, South Africa with the adoption of a 30-point declaration to promote cooperation on wide range of sectors between China and Africa.

Fifty African heads of state and government delegations, including Ghana, and their Chinese counterparts adopted the declaration to promote a comprehensive upgrading of China-Africa mutually beneficial cooperation.
Prominent among the declaration is the move by China and Africa to actively pursue cooperation between their industries and the development of the industrial capacity and agricultural modernisation of Africa.

Also included in the declaration is the focus on the development infrastructure projects including railways, highways,, regional aviation, power, water supply, information and communication, airports, posts as well as human resource development cooperation and capacity building.

In addition, the declaration also touches on the promotion of mutually beneficial cooperation in agriculture,food security, processing and manufacturing, energy resources, maritime economy, tourism, investment, trade, finance and technology transfer.

"We underscore not he importance of intensifying cooperation in projects related to beneficiation at source while enhancing technical and intellectual capacities;Enhance collaboration in the development of industrial parks and clusters, technical parks, special economic zones (SEZs) and engineering centres".

By the adoption of the Johannesburg Declaration, the two sides intends to provide training for engineering and technical personnel, managers and actively explore the linkages between China's initiative of building Silk Road Economic Belts and sustainable development agenda for the realisation of the common development dream of China and Africa.
