NDC Inaugurates Three (3) Youth Groups...

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has inaugurated three youth groups to help the party win the 2016 elections.

The three groups are the Operations, Social Media and Research and Projects.

The five-member Operations team has Mr Fuseni Sugrinooma as its leader, while the five-member Social Media group is headed by Mr Dzifa Gunu, with the six-member Research and Projects team being headed by Marcus Garvin Adampah.

Complementary roles

The groups will complement the role of the National Youth wing of the party, help to strategise on how to win more youth to support the party for the 2016 elections, as well as help set records straight about the party and on government issues.

Furthermore, the groups will also help to unite the rank and file of the party to ensure its visibility and attractiveness across the length and breadth of the country.

Political parties

Inaugurating the groups, the General Secretary of the NDC, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia, said the NDC believed in the power of the youth as future leaders.

“This is what set the party different from other political parties,” he stated.

Operation 57 per cent

Mr Nketia, therefore, urged the youth to take their roles in the party seriously by placing their loyalty at the highest pedestal for the party and its leadership.

That, Mr Nketia said, would enable the party to achieve its ‘’operation 57 per cent votes for President John Dramani Mahama in the 2016 elections”.

He urged the youth to take up the challenge to win more members at the grass-roots level by organising house-to-house campaigns.

The General Secretary also observed that with the teaming youth and women solidly behind the party and President Mahama, the election in 2016 was already won.

Cautioning the youth against the danger of declaring their own independence as had happened in South Africa where the youth broke away to form their own party, Mr Nketia said the NDC was the only party in the country that had given the youth and the women wings of the party semi-autonomy to organise their conference and draw their own programmes and projects.

He said the youth ought to reciprocate the gesture by working hard and remaining loyal to the party.

The National Youth Organiser of the party, Mr Sidi Abubakar Musah, in a welcome address said the working teams project was motivated by the party’s quest to explore all legitimate tools of disseminating information on the unprecedented developmental projects of President John Dramani-led administration.

He said the Mahama administration was engaged in changing lives and transforming Ghana towards attainment of the Better Ghana Agenda.
