Alban Bagin Must Prove Who Is Behind The Power Barge Delay - Nana Akomea

The Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea, has called on the Majority Leader in Parliament, Hon. Alban Sumana Bagbin to come out vividly on his statement that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is aware of a group that went to Turkey to stop the power barge from coming to Ghana.

Nana Akomea in an interview with Akwasi Aboagye, host of NEAT FM’s morning show said, the majority leader in parliament would be seen by Ghanaians as a person who makes 'baseless’ statements if he is not able to prove with accurate and valid information as to who was behind the delay, since this is not his first time he is making such a pronouncement.

He indicated that due to ‘dumsor’ a lot of people have lost their jobs whiles others have also lost their lives and properties.

According to Nana Akomea, the government, national security, BNI, police, CID and any other office responsible should be ready to take disciplinary action against the person who wanted to prevent the power barge from coming to solve the energy problems.

“Mahamudu Bawumia is aware that a team from their party even went to Turkey to convince the authorities not to send the power barge, so government had to send a team to Turkey to tell them what they were told was untrue,” Alban Bagbin alleged.

Alban Bagbin who is also the Member of Parliament for Nadowli-Kaleo constituency stated that the members of the opposition NPP should be the last people to complain about 'dumsor'.

“If there is anybody to blame for the delay of the power barge it is the NPP for their backbiting against the government,” he added.

The veteran politician made these wild allegations after the vice presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia questioned the essence of renting a barge for ten years when government could have easily bought it.
