Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been described as a pupil when it comes to fiscal policy and the economy in any contest which involves the Vice-President, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur.

According to Allotey Jacobs, NDC Central Regional Chairman, the opposition NPP should stop counting on Dr. Bawumia as the economic messiah who can save the country from its present doldrums.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Bernard Allotey Jacobs ascribed to Dr. Bawumia as an economic servant whose economic master is the Veep, who also doubles as the Chairman of the country's Economic Management Team (EMT).

He pointed out that under his (Amissah-Arthur's) watch as the EMT Chair, he has helped in improving the country's revenue mobilisation.

“A servant can never be greater than his master. Amissah-Arthur taught Bawumia at the University of Ghana and he can never be greater than his lecturer, no matter how brilliant the student may be in class,” he asserted.

“If Bawumia is an economic genius, then he should give thanks to Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur because he learnt everything he knows about the economy from the Vice President,” he added.
