I Supported And Campaigned For Afoko, But... - Nana Akomea

Nana Akomea, Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has dismissed claims that the party's General Secretary and Second National Vice Chairman have been sacrificed because of their support for Presidential Aspirant Alan Kyeremateng.

According to him, there is no iota of truth in such claims because the party's Disciplinary Committee and National Executive Committee (NEC) are a mix of experienced leaders of the party.

He noted that the Disciplinary Committee comprises people who cannot compromise their positions or be exploited for any gains.

He wondered why the two suspended leaders' issue will be linked to the Alan/Nana Addo factions in the party.

In further attempts to debunk the claims, Nana Akomea revealed the he was a staunch supporter of the suspended National Chairman Paul Afoko.

He stated that he supported him in his entire endeavours, nonetheless the party suspended him.

He therefore questioned where his loyalty lies after Paul Afoko's suspension, asking does it mean he belongs to any faction if he supported him (Mr. Afoko)?

He urged the party and opposition members to drop the charges against the NPP for suspending Kwabena Agyepong and Sammy Crabbe, adding the decision is in the interest of the party.
