Eastern Region Hails President Mahama For Maintaining Veep

THE EASTERN regional branch of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has lauded the retention of the Vice President, Paa Kwasi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, as running mate for the 2016 polls.

This was contained in a statement issued by the party on Tuesday and signed by Francis Annor Dompreh, Deputy Regional Secretary of the party.

According to the statement, the Vice President has exhibited his commitment, hard work, dedication and expertise to support the transformational agenda of the government, hence, deserved to be maintained as running mate for the party.

The statement noted that “the entire membership of the ruling NDC in the Eastern Region overwhelmingly endorse the choice of H.E. Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur by President John Dramani Mahama as the latter's running mate for the 2016 elections.

“We wish to thank His Excellency the President for reposing his trust and confidence in our Vice President for the second time. H.E. Amissah-Arthur has humbly and diligently supported President Mahama in the execution of the transformational agenda over the last three years and has obviously portrayed him as a team player.”

The deputy regional secretary further noted that it was only fair to maintain the winning team just as the larger NDC populace did on November 21, by overwhelmingly endorsing President Mahama for a second tenure.

“As a region, we are very optimistic that the Mahama-Amissah-Arthur ticket will help bring our electoral objective dubbed 'agenda 50/50' to fruition. We, by this release, reiterate our support for President Mahama and his Veep, H.E. Amissah-Arthur.

“Together, we shall continue to change lives and transform Ghana. Long Live the NDC; Long Live the President and His Vice.” the statement said.
