Tamale Riot Ring Leader Granted Bail

A Tamale Circuit Court presided over by Justice Williams Appiah has granted bail with two sureties to Sulemana Kingdia, the man arrested for inciting and taking part in a disturbances in Tamale last week.

Sulemana was arrested  Thursday dawn for allegedly masterminding a riot that saw the burning of billboards and other political properties belonging to Hon. Inusah Fuseini

He was charged with causing unlawful damages and unlawful riot at Tamale district court presided over by His Lordship Justice Essah

The court remanded him into Prison Custody to reappear on Monday.

Today, when the case was called, the prosecutor was absent which angered the judge who ordered his presence in the Court.

After many attempts to get the prosecutor became unsuccessful, Justice Essah ordered the case be transfered to the Circuit Court.

The Circuit after hearing the case granted him court enquiry bail on condition that two persons who are residents of Tamale, are civil service officers and with monthly salaries exceeding ghc10,000.00 will stand in for the bail.

Sulemana appeared in court today in a civil demeanour, very quite and submissive, in somewhat uncertain mood he maintained a calm composure cooperating with the security agencies.

Earlier this morning,dozen of implacable youth and aged folks stormed the court demanding the immediate release of Sulemana

The youth who saddled the premises of the court with their motorbikes effed and blabbed to  cause another disturbances if Kingdia was not granted bail

The youth who were at the court accused the leadership of the NDC in the region of witch hunting supporters of Alhaji Ibrahim Seidu(Engineer) who contested and lost toHon. Inusah Fuseini 

The Regional Chairman of the NDC, Chief Sorfo Azorka and regional director of elections Tanko Computer was said to have contributed to the defeat of their candidate Mr. Engineer

They promised to ensure the defeat of both the President and Hon. Inusah Fuseini in 2016 elections for betraying them

Over the week, some angry youth went on rampage destroying properties and burning tyres after hearing that Inusah Fuseini had caused the sack of Ibrahim Seidu from the Feeder Roads as an engineer for contesting him in the just ended NDC Primaries
