Dum Sor Strikes IEA 25th Anniversary Lecture

Dum Sor caught up with the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) on Wednesday.

The Institute of Economic Affairs conducted a public lecture on Wednesday to look at the pros and cons of having free and fair elections in Africa.

Present at the function were dignitaries such as NPP Flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo; suspended General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong; Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings; Former Chief of Staff, Nana Ato Dadzie; Former CHRAJ Boss, Emile Short; K.B Asante, Hackman Owusu, Rev. Opuni Frimpong General Secretary of the Christian Council among others.

The event hosted the immediate past Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of Nigeria Professor Attahiru Jega to share his experiences on the Nigerian election scene.

But one would have attributed it to sabotage when the lights went off twice as the event commenced.

There was total darkness at the main auditorium of the College of Physicians and Surgeons as Prof. Attahiru Jega took to the podium to enumerate initiatives his Commission adopted to make great strides in Nigeria's elections.

What is intriguing is that the lights went off sequentially in the middle of Prof. Jega's speech to the gathering.

It is however unknown whether the power cuts were as a result of internal glitches or from the national grid.
