Let's Combine Efforts To Fight Corruption

The Oforikrom Constituency Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Emmanuel Reagan Fynn, has called for a combined effort of all Ghanaians to fight corruption

He said tackling “this evil” must not be left to the government alone and that collective action was needed.

Making the call through the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi, he stated that the “blame game, simply must stop”.

Mr. Fynn said there could not be any doubt that the government was doing everything to rein in the canker and that what was left was for everybody to provide the necessary backing.

He denounced, what he said, was the unfortunate politicization of the recent publication by Transparency International of its corruption index and pointed out that it rather offered an opportunity to dispassionately discuss the way forward.

“What we should do as a nation is to identify and deal with factors that are fueling the corrupt practices.”

He condemned unbridled greed and selfishness, reminding the people to value honesty, transparency and accountability.

He also suggested the formation of anti-corruption clubs in basic schools to sensitize the youth on the dangers of corruption.

Mr. Fynn appealed to religious bodies to use their enormous influence with the people to discourage them from acts of corruption.
