Konadu To Renew JM Bashing

Very credible information reaching The aL-hAJJ indicates that failed presidential aspirant of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings will in the coming days intensify her scathing attacks on President John Dramani Mahama and the ruling National Democratic Congress administration. The motive behind this, sources close to her say, is to help revive the fast dwindling fortunes of the opposition New Patriotic Party.

Though Mrs Rawlings has severally berated the President and the ruling party since leaving the NDC after her humiliating defeat at the 2011 Sunyani flag bearer contest, the yet-to-be launched diatribe, this paper has gathered, is part of a wider pact the NDP leader has entered into with leaders of the opposition NPP to cause disaffection for President Mahama and his NDC party.

Deep throat sources in the NPP conversant with the ‘marriage of convenience’ between the biggest opposition party and the almost non-existent NDP told The aL-hAJJ that, “the party (NPP) has agreed that anytime Nana Konadu Agyeman decides to organize a rally, some of our members will be in her NDP t-shirts to show that she has the numbers. Mind you, these rallies will be used to attack the President.”

“The plan is that if we crowd her rally grounds, cheering and chanting in support of the bad things she will say about the president and the NDC, people will take it serious,” the source revealed.

Even though Nana Konadu’s medical-trained doctor, Dr Zanetor Rawlings will contest the Klottey Korle parliamentary election on the ticket of the NDC, reports are that the former first lady’s motive to lead the NPP’s media war on President Mahama is to ensure that the biggest opposition party wins the November 2016 elections.

Reports are that the National Democratic Congress founder’s wife is at pains with her daughter for opting to contest the parliamentary election on the ticket of the ruling party instead of her unappealing and virtually comatose NDP whose membership has shrink considerably.

While reports suggest that Nana Konadu is tacitly fanning disaffection for her daughter to lose the Klottey Korle parliamentary election with her constant attacks on the president, latest information reaching this paper indicates that she will intensify this strategy in the coming days to include a possible defeat of the NDC.

Mrs Rawlings is said to be so keen on ensuring that the NPP wins the 2016 elections to the extent that she is alleged to have recently donated motorbikes and cash amounts to the Eastern regional branch of the NPP to augment their effort at stopping the NDC’s planned agenda 50/50.

As precursor to Nana Konadu’s planned vile attacks on the President, the NDP leader in recent days has been taking on President Mahama at the least opportunity, describing him in one instance as bad manager.

Speaking at an acclamation ceremony for the Volta Regional Executives of the NDP recently, Mrs Agyeman-Rawlings, who said Ghana has veered off the path of integrity, freedom, development and progress noted, “We (Ghana) need to go back to basics to get a good manager to manage our economy.

Without shelving her hatred for the late president Mills, Nana Konadu stated, parliaments under late John Mills and President Mahama are responsible for some of the worst crimes the nation has ever witnessed.

“I think the fifth and sixth parliament of the Mills-Mahama NDC regime have virtually supervised some of the most unspeakable crimes that we have seen in this country. Unspeakable crimes against our nation in monstrous corruption and the abuse of people’s mandate in reckless abandon…very reckless”, she noted.

While the NDC, through its deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho, has called on party members to ignore Nana Konadu’s rants, accusing her of being in bed with the NPP, The aL-hAJJ’s independent investigations have uncovered that the ruling party has so far only tasted bits of attacks the NDP leader has planned to unleash ahead of the 2016 elections.

As at press time yesterday a Daily Guide report quoted Mrs Rawalings to have described President Mahama as being disrespectful to Ghanaians who voted him into office.

“Ghana needs a leader who is upright and can fight corruption. We don’t need a leader that has taken Ghanaians for granted and can look at Ghanaians and say we have short memories,” the NDP leader was reported to have said.

She stated that the NDC government is made up of corrupt people who lack integrity and also do not respect the people who pay taxes for government to manage the country with.
