Atik Mohammed, Policy Analyst of the People's National Convention (PNC), has commended the Ashanti Regional Police Command for confiscating large cache of arms and ammunition.
The Police Command seized various arms and ammunition from a house in the Ashanti Region.
These included AK 47 assault rifles, 45 automatic sidearms, a machine gun among others.
A 72-year old Ivorian at Akwatialine in Kumasi was also arrested for possessing the guns.
Speaking on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, Atik Mohammed lauded the Ashanti Regional Commander DCOP Kofi Boakye and his team for clamping down on armed robbery and other social vices in the Region.
He urged them not to relent in their efforts to fight against crime in the Region.
Atik Mohammed further advised Ghanaians to volunteer information to the Police about criminals in their vicinities so as to safeguard the nation.
