Do Not Relax For There Is More To Do - Political Science Lecturer Tells NPP

Dr. Bonsu Osei-wusu, a senior political science lecturer at the Methodist University College has cautioned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to be reluctant in working intensely towards the 2016 elections due to the close margin the party achieved in the Amenfi West by-election.

According to him, "by-elections do not come with massive turnout as compared to general elections. This is because general elections come with consistent campaigns across the country, from the various political parties which create much awareness to the public on the voting dates and the processes involved."

He stated that, some disadvantages that come with by-elections are that, most individuals who register in constituencies which are not closer to them do not find it necessary to go and cast their votes during by-elections, due to various reasons known to them.

Also, most Members of Parliament (MP)'s promise huge developments of which they know very well within themselves and resources allocated to them that they cannot redeem through any means, forgetting that individuals in the constituency would look out for all these before voting for them as MP's.
