Must NPP Wait For The Chief Of Staff To Petition A-G...What's Their Use In Parliament? - Former MP

The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah has petitioned the Attorney General "to review the contract and associated payment(s)" of rebranding 116 Metro Mass buses.

A letter dated December 17, 2015 was delivered to the Attorney General asking her to revert without fail with her findings by the close of Tuesday, December 22.

Commenting on the issue on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, the former NDC Member of Parliament for Adenta, Kojo Adu Asare wondered it has to take the Chief of Staff to petition the Attorney General over the rebranding deal.

The staunch National Democratic Congress (NDC) member contends the minority in Parliament should have made the request to the Attorney General.

He expressed disappointment in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament for failing to seek a review of the amount of rebranding the buses since it is the minority that should have taken centre stage in the discussion over the issue.

To him, the minority appears to have lost their voice in Parliament.

Is the NPP outside Parliament different from the NPP in Parliament...What is their use? If now it’s the ruling party (NDC) that must issue a statement to make a request for an inquiry, then what is the use of their Members of Parliament as of now who riffled through the document before it reached this extent?” he questioned.
